Our Board

There truly are no words that can express my thoughts regarding Horses with Hearts. That God would place this ministry on my heart, and especially that He would put me in the “driver’s seat”, is beyond my thoughts or dreams. I will never forget the day I met Lindsey Connelly and how that child changed my life. Trapped in a body that no longer functioned, she had more love for life and her Heavenly Father than I could only begin to imagine. Each one of the Horses with Hearts participants has taught me something that has changed my life. They have taught me that God truly does not make mistakes. He created each one of them just the way He needed them to be to touch the hearts and lives of each one of us. Ephesians 2:10 states, “We are God’s workmanship, created to do good works, which God prepared in advanced for us to do”. They have taught me how to love unconditionally, to give unselfishly, to appreciate life to its fullest and to reach for the stars.

It is my honest desire, as you go through each section of this website that you will allow God to use you to change their lives and the lives of others. We have come a long way (from one horse and one rider to eight horses and over 44 riders), but I don’t believe for one minute that God wants us to stop there. I know without a shadow of a doubt that there are many lives He wants to change through Horses with Hearts. I believe it is His desire to see this program be a full time program. I believe He desires for us to have a facility that will allow us to operate 12 months out of the year regardless of the weather. I believe that He does not intend for us to do it alone. In fact, we can’t do it alone – we need each and every person. God has blessed us with the best of the best when it comes to volunteers, but there are still more needed: program volunteers, fundraisers, board members, executive committee members. God has blessed us with wonderful financial support, but to get where He wants us to be, we need more support through rider sponsorships, horse sponsorships, monthly donations, large donations, and small donations. I pray that you will take the time to ask God what part in this program He wants you to play and that you will step up to the plate, answering His call. Remember God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called. That is what He has done within this organization. Not one of us has ever felt qualified, each one of us has been willing to step up and answer the call. So I ask you today, is He calling you to join us?
